Gigantic Sequins has been featured in the following:

APRIL 2012 Sophie Klahr, our poetry editor, provided answers for some questions the wonderful people at the Houston Indie Book Festival had about our journal. Read the results of that, our Exhibitor Spotlight. The event is on Saturday, April 14, 2012.

FEBRUARY 2012 The great folks who’ve organized the 2012 Brooklyn Zine Fest interviewed our editor in chief, Kimberly Ann Southwick, for their blog promoting the event, April 15th, a Saturday. They asked some good questions, and our EIC had appropriate answers, including the revealing of Philly’s biggest secret–

NOVEMBER 2011 Nathan Brown, an intern at Luna Park Review, mentions us in an article titled “An Intern Digs into Some New Mags” as being hip on the “print end”. He has our cover image in his sidebar, which is a stack of “Good Mags” we are honored to be featured with. He says, regarding us as well as Barrelhouse, Camera Obscura, and a few others, “These selections can perhaps only be generalized in that they are all collections of stimulating poetry, nonfiction, or fiction (or all three) with provocative cover designs and interior artwork, not to mention overall clarity of typesetting and graphic design.”

JULY 2011 J.E. Reich of Artfaccia wrote an article about a Gigantic Sequins reading at Word Up, a pop-up bookstore in NYC. The reading celebrated issue 2.2. and featured Leigh Phillips, Michelle Cheever, Helen Vitoria and Ian Carlos Crawford. The article is detailed and well-written.

JUNE 2011 Mike Young comments on our review of his short story collection Look! Look! Feathers and cites his favorite lines from issue 2.2. Dig his blog post that features us.

The Poets House Online Directory  features Gigantic Sequins 1.1. Just do a search for “Gigantic Sequins” When they upgrade the files to extend past 2009, they should have 1.2 and 2.1 logged in there as well. We hope to get our more recent issues to them soon.

MARCH 2011 in the Kickstarter Blog: Cassie M. blogged about our Kickstarter fundraiser, running from March THIS to April THIS, which met its minimum shortly after her post, on our editor in chief’s birthday. She had this to say about us: “This project just goes to show that Mom had it right: “Just be yourself.” The ambitious and, frankly, adorable crew behind literary arts journal Gigantic Sequins are not “hi-fi,” but they’re articulate, thoughtful, and clever.” and more!

FALL 2010 in the Fictionaut Blog: Nicolle Elizaebeth of Fictionaut interviewed Gigantic Sequins editor in chief Kimberly Ann Southwick. You can find a link to the blog here: http://blog.fictionaut.com/ In the future, a direct link to the interview can be found by clicking here.

Of note, another Emerson Alum, Sophie Klahr (’06) now works on the mag presently, in addition to those listed who formerly worked with us.

MARCH 31, 2010 Review @ Big Lucks in their ‘Pubs We Love’ category : SEE IT HERE! Here is an excerpt: “There is an overall sense of accomplishment in Gigantic Sequins that’s looking to the future of the little guy and the art of the written word. There’s also the feeling on every page that they’re just getting started, and already kicking ass.”
