As you may know, one of the more difficult things for a literary arts journal, or any artistic endeavor, is funding. Gigantic Sequins would love it if you could help us with this, no matter how small the amount you can give is. We hope that you will join us in achieving our fundraising goals.

The website above is limited to suggested amounts. If you would like to donate a different amount, please email giganticmagazine@gmail.com and let us know how much you would like to donate. We will gladly accommodate your generosity in any amount.

As a Friend, your name will be listed in our 3.1 issue (if you wish for it not to be, email us to let us know and we will list you anonymously), and you also will receive a complimentary copy of the journal when it is released.

Pete’s Mini Zine Fest / 3.1 News

Hello friends and enemies! We are pleased to announce the following.

Issue 3.1 is being put together in its mock form, and we will soon announce the writers and artists featured in it. Stay tuned!

In addition, we will be at Pete’s Mini Zine Fest at Pete’s Candy Store in Brooklyn, NYC on Sunday, September 25th. The festival is a fundraiser for the NYPL, and entry is FREE. Our Editor in Chief will be missing watching the Eagles/Giants NFL game to attend this zine fest, and she hopes to see you there! Boog City Fest 2011

This weekend is the festival celebrating Boog City’s 20th Anniversary! All events that involve GS (book fair + readings) are located at Unnameable Books, 600 Vanderbilt Ave. in Brooklyn, NYC. By subway, take the B or Q to 7th Ave. in Prospect Heights, BK.

Gigantic Sequins will be at the SMALL PRESS FAIR on Saturday from 11:30 am-9 pm and Sunday from 12noon-4 pm. Stop by our table! We will have FREE stickers, all issues of GS for sale (discount packages available if you want to buy more than 1!), bookmarks, and a RAFFLE. (You all know how much we love raffles.)

In addition to tabling at Unnameable Books with other great artisans and presses, Helen Vitoria (2.2) will be reading Saturday @ 12:40 pm and our editor in chief, Kimberly Ann Southwick, will be reading Sunday @ 1:35 pm.

Holler! Our Reading @ Word Up in Washington Heights

Gigantic Sequins had a great reading at Word Up this past Tuesday night, featuring prose by Michelle Cheever, poetry by Leigh Phillips and Helen Vitoria, and non-fiction by Ian Carlos Crawford. Veronica Liu of Fractious Press introduced the night by explaining the motivation behind the pop-up bookstore, Word Up, and then the readings began.
